Calling All Curious + Andrew Kuttler

We're still on cloud nine after our very first InstaMeet in Santa Monica. From blue balloons and crazy props to one stunning sunset, it was a pleasure meeting an amazing bunch of creative and curious West Coast Fossil fans.
While in California, we had some one-on-one time with co-host and Instagrammer-extraordinaire, Andrew Kuttler. Props, landscapes, people and all — Andrew transforms everyday objects into something whimsical and curious (a perfect fit for #CallingAllCurious). Check out some of his mind-blowing optical illusions at @andrewkuttler and read his super fun Q&A below.

What's a (curious) habit of yours?

A: I start every day with an alarm that ends in 8 so that my day will be great (and full of adventure)!

What curious object do you never leave home without?

A: I could never leave home without a gold sharpie! I have to be able to sketch my ideas on the go.

If your life was a movie, what would be the title?

A: Andrew’s Amazing Adventure.

Who would make the soundtrack to your life?

A: Britney Spears. She’ll keep me dancing ’til the world ends!

What are your favorite objects to use when creating perception shots?

A: Hands!

Where is your favorite place to photograph?

A: I’d live on a rainbow if I could – it’d make for a perfect backdrop! But of all the places I’ve traveled I’d have to say, Los Angeles. It’s got more colored walls within a small area than I could have ever imagined. They’re perfect for creating minimal shots.

Where do you seek inspiration?

A: From my friends. I’ve been pretty blessed to be surrounded with a bunch of creative folks, and they push me to be better every day.

What's your favorite Fossil piece?

A: Definitely my Estate Casual Leather Backpack. It gets more and more beautiful with each adventure!
