Meet These Seriously Stylish Dads

This month we’re setting out to celebrate Dads in the best way we know how—by crafting an array of timeless gifts just for him! So we invited two talented (father) photographers to share how they use their favorite watches and leathers in their day-to-day lives while working, blogging and spending time with their families. Meet dad-of-two Tim Coulson, based in the southern coast of Sydney, and California-native Tim Melideo, the classic(ish) guy behind the Stay Classic Blog.

Q: NAME THREE OF YOUR WARDROBE ESSENTIALS.

COULSON: Chinos, boots, black tee.

MELIDEO: Brown cap toe boots, dark blue jeans, light blue Oxford button down shirt

Q: WHAT’S THE FIRST FOSSIL PIECE YOU OWNED?

MELIDEO: I think it was a leather wallet. One of the first nice wallets I ever bought that wasn’t Velcro.

Q: WHAT DO YOU LIKE THE MOST ABOUT YOUR Q FOUNDER SMARTWATCH?

COULSON: Honestly, the style. I’ve yet to come across another smartwatch that looks as good as this one, let alone has the functionality that the Q Founder possesses.

Q: WHAT’S YOUR ACTIVITY GOAL?

COULSON: I’m happy any day I take more than 10,000 steps.

Q: WHAT ARE SOME OF YOUR FAVORITE THINGS TO DO TO STAY ACTIVE?

COULSON: Hiking with my wife and our two boys would definitely be my favorite way of staying active. My Mum babysits so I can head to the gym with my wife a few mornings a week, as well. We do a lot of bodyweight exercises with minimal rest with the goal being to keep our heart rates high. It burns.

Q: WHAT DO YOU LIKE THE MOST ABOUT YOUR TOWNSMAN MECHANICAL?

MELIDEO: I love the look of the strap. It looks like I’ve already owned it for years. And I love being able to see the mechanics of the watch through the face.

Q: AS A DAD, WHAT’S THE MOST CURIOUS THING YOU’VE SEEN THIS MONTH?

COULSON: For the first 14 months of my baby boy’s life, he has laid, sat, rolled or crawled. Just a week ago, he took his first steps, and now he practically runs everywhere we go. It’s such an incredible thing to witness.

Q: WHAT WOULD BE A PERFECT FATHER’S DAY?

COULSON: My baby boys crawling into bed for some cuddles before we head out in time for a sunrise hike, followed by a delicious breakfast overlooking the ocean. As long as I spend the rest of the day with my family and get some quality time with my own Dad, then I’d be very happy.

MELIDEO: Pizza, whiskey and a baby in a good mood so I can relax.

Q: WHO INSPIRES YOU?

COULSON: I’m inspired by people who go against the norms of society, particularly people who take risks to pursue their passion and share it with the world.

MELIDEO: My wife.
