Behind The Design our Valentine’s Day Print

Hit all the high (love) notes with our paper plane heart print. Tying back to our “It’s in the Air” theme, this Valentine’s Day print showcases everything we love about the holiday: passing love letters and unexpected surprises. Our favorite thing about this design? It can effortlessly be worn throughout the season (and beyond).

We asked our print designer Emily Robinson to tell us where the inspiration came from.

Q: Tell us about the creative process behind the print.

A: This print was an accidental collaboration between designers! The original illustration (depicting repeating paper planes) happened to be sitting on our island when we were discussing ideas for a Valentine's themed print. We realized adding a small extra piece to the plane shape would create the perfect geometric heart.

Q: What do you love about the color palette?

A: It brings all our favorite spring hues together—pops of seaglass, pomegranate and papaya complement the easy-to-wear navy background. The happy colors and angled hearts seem to fly off the fabric.

Q: What are some of your favorite giftable items from the collection?

A: I'm partial to the Framed Shave Kit in the grey paper plane pattern; it's the perfect (non-boring) guy gift.

Fall in love with our paper plane heart print and more right here.
