Palm Springs Travel Guide

June 12, 2017

Summer is here, and the only thing on our mind is "where to next?". There's something about the heat that gets our travel bug itching. Road trips, last minute weekend getaways, and family vacations. It's the time to reminisce on past trips you'll never forget while planning new adventures to embark on.

We partnered with one of our favorite gals, Jen Pinkston, of The Effortless Chic while she paid a visit to her spirit city, Palm Springs, California.

It's gotten an update in the last five years, but it still has a charm reminiscent of another era. The dry heat, mid-century design, and delicious food are just a few reasons to head to this oasis in the desert! Here are a few of Jen's favorite spots in Palm Springs.

Where to stay:

"Stay at an Air BNB if you can. There are plenty great houses with private backyards.  As for hotels, I love Korakia Pensione . It’s so homey and has a very chill vibe."

daytime fun:

"Enjoy cocktails poolside at The Saguaro . Their big batch cocktails are as delicious as they are strong and they are very, very strong. Plus, their brightly colored exterior and crazy party scene make for the best poolside fun!"

go-to coffee:

"Get coffee at Ernest Coffee . Their almond milk lattes rival even the most pretentious of hipster spots in Los Angeles."

Where to wander:

"Don't miss the chance to stop at the Spa at The Parker , otherwise known as the Yacht Club. It feels like you’re entering another universe and you leave feeling like a better, more relaxed version of yourself. Plus it’s a great excuse to walk around the beautiful grounds and perhaps even enjoy a nap in the hammock on the lawn."

Get inspired:

"Take in the architecture with Palm Springs Modern Tours . It sheds a whole new interesting light on this city and gives you a much deeper appreciation for its storied past."

Must-try restaurant:

"Enjoy dinner at Copley’s . After your tour, you're bound to be hungry. There are plenty of places that will vie for your restaurant attention in this town, but Copley’s is my favorite for a meal that feels classic Palm Springs. It’s a perfect juxtaposition to all of the bright, poppy new spots in town."

Eclectic Shopping:

"Shop for vintage furniture at The Estate Sale Co.  and J.P. Denmark . You never know what you’ll find and, for the right price, they’ll even deliver it to LA and beyond. Shop for vintage clothing at The Fine Art of Design . Vintage from many different decades abound!"
