Featuring Justin Livingston of Scout Sixteen
A lifestyle blogger with a penchant for good times and white denim-on-denim outfits—Justin Livingston of ScoutSixteen.com is our quintessential classic(ish) guy. We met up with the uber creative editor at a corner coffee shop in Manhattan to chat about his eclectic (and edgy) style.
See what he loves most about our new Fossil Q Founder watch, and how it helps him stay connected and keep track of his health goals.
Q: How important is your watch when you dress up every morning?
A: I like the fact that no matter what my mood is for the day, I can change up my Q Founder’s look to match whatever I’m wearing. Q Founder is a total classic—you can dress it up or dress it down, which is perfect for me.
Q: How would you describe your personal style?
A: I guess I would say I’m classic with a twist. I like minimal, simple pieces, but I also like to jazz it up every now and then with a printed shirt, brogue boots or something that’s a little bit more edgy.
Q: How do you stay healthy living in NYC?
A: Because my days are so packed, sometimes I don’t get to go to the gym or a workout class. When I’m busy, I make a little more time to walk around the city. Having a watch like Q Founder helps me track my steps, challenge myself and set up a goal—like 10,000 steps a day...As a New Yorker, everyone walks everywhere so it’s part of our ethos.
Q: How does Fossil Q play a role in your work day?
A: I’m not always in a position where I can check my phone throughout the day, but it’s nice that with the Fossil Founder, I can easily flip my watch over, see a quick notification, and it doesn’t distract me or won’t seem rude to the person I’m meeting with. It’s pretty nice.
Q: What are some of your favorite Q faces?
A: I’m such a classic person, so I love the classic, chronograph face. I really actually like the aviator too. It’s really clean, and perfect to wear with jeans, a t-shirt and maybe some Converse. It seems much more fitting for an everyday weekend look.
Q: How has your lifestyle changed since becoming a full-time blogger?
A: Well, it was odd because when I started my blog, it wasn’t anything I thought would take off, and when it did, I was quite surprised. It’s been such a whirlwind, roller-coaster journey, and there has been a lot of trial and error while learning how to manage this sort of unmanageable lifestyle. Time management is so important, and it’s something I had to learn. Since I’m a full-time blogger, having pieces like the Q Founder, that enables me to check my calendar on the go, keeps me on track.
