We're excited to launch our newest collaboration, the Curator Series , with Amber Lewis of Amber Interiors  and Benjamin VanDiver . This partnership is a meeting of the minds between these two interior designers and our Fossil design team. We often find inspiration in this creative field, making it a perfect fit for the first in our curator series.

Q: What inspired your watch design?

A: I have always been obsessed with vintage furniture, clothing and accessories. I stumbled on a weathered and worn watch, and all my creative wheels started turning. I wanted to create something timeless that would look and feel very quality.

Q: What was your first design success?

A: My own house!!

Q: What was your first design fail?

A: I would say “fail” is the wrong word…because every failure has resulted in a major learning experience. I try really hard to not bite off more than I can chew..as that seems to be when the most mistakes are made.

Q: Who or what do you get inspiration from?

A: I get so much inspiration from nature and my environment. I love exploring new cities, restaurants, and old architecture.

Q: Favorite personal style tip?

A: Life is to short…buy the bag!

Q: How did your interior design style translate into this watch?

A: It was really important to me to take the simple fundamental tools that I use on a day to day basis: luxury, quality, and approachability. The watch is simple and elegant, yet has a casual feel that allows it to be worn day to night.

Q: What inspires you?

A: Right now for me, my sources of inspiration come mainly from my clients. They have stories, and collections of things and art, they are constantly teaching me about new things and inspiring me.

Q: Who do you see wearing this watch, and for what occasion?

A: Pairing things with this watch is quite simple because it’s so versatile and it does work day to night. For me, a simple blue blazer, really easy jeans, and even a sneaker look great with this watch. A really simple look becomes elevated or dressed up in a nuanced way with this watch.

Q: What is your go-to look?

A: Most people consider my design work minimalism and that is probably the same case with my wardrobe. I wear a lot of the same things over and over again because I like to keep things simple.
